Etoricoxib is an anti-inflammatory drug used for treating pain and swelling because of various diseases affecting the joints, muscles, and tendons. The diseases are such as gout, strains, arthritis, or ankylosing spondylitis, along with milt to moderate pain resulting from dental surgeries.
Thiocolchicoside is used as an addition to the treatment for relieving painful stiffness or constriction in different diseases of the muscles, nerves, spine and the joints.
The most common side effects of this drug are palpitation, bruise, abdominal pain, change in blood test results, fatigue, dizziness, indigestion, increased blood pressure (hypertension), constipation, heartburn, swollen limb, or nausea.
The common side effect of consuming this drug is: abdominal cramp, abdominal bloating, abdominal pain, diarrhoea, dizziness, fatigue, headache, influenza like symptoms, nausea and weakness.
Compared to other NSAIDs and selective COX-2 inhibitors, etoricoxib may be associated with concurrent and severe hypertension, especially at high doses. Administration of etoricoxib is contraindicated in patients with persistent hypertension where the blood pressure is usually above 140/90 mm Hg; severe congestive heart failure; and active peptic ulceration.
Paracetamol/thiocolchicoside administration is contraindicated in patients having conditions such as allergic to thiocolchicoside; breastfeeding; hepatic impairment; hypersensitivity to this drug; and pregnancy.
