AZUNATE L 40MG/240MG SYRUP 15 ML
Artemether is an antimalarial drug administered for the treatment of malaria (Plasmodium falciparum virus born) which is resistant to multiple antimalarial drugs. This drug is advised along with another antimalarial drug called lumefantrine for treating certain strains of drug resistant malaria.
The common side effects of using this drug are skin rash, allergic reaction, altered heart rate, difficulty in speaking, chills, dizziness, difficulty in swallowing, shortness of breath, facial swelling, lip swelling, fainting, fever, headache, insomnia, loss of appetite, muscle pain, joint pain, sore tongue, vomiting, weakness, fatigue, chills, cough, fast, irregular heartbeat and fever.
Administration of lumefantrine is contraindicated in conditions such as hypersensitivity to artemether, lumefantrine, or any component of the product; simultaneous use with strong CYP3A4 inducers such as rifampin, carbamazepine, phenytoin, and St Johns wort.
