Montelukast is used in asthma prevention, exercise-induced asthma and allergic rhinitis symptoms.Montelukast works by blocking the action of leukotriene, a chemical messenger. This reduces inflammation in the airways to prevent asthma and relieve symptoms of allergies.
Fexofenadine, an antihistamine, is used to provide relief from allergy symptoms of hay fever, such as runny nose, sneezing, red,itchy and watery eyes, itching of ose or throat, etc. These symptoms are caused by levels of histamine in the body. Fexofenadine works to reduce its effects and avoid these symptoms. The drug is also used to help with symptoms of chronic idiopathic urticaria such as skin itching and hives.
The most common side effects of this drug are dizziness, heartburn, tiredness, difficulty breathing or swallowing, itching, rash, flu-like symptoms
The most common side effects of this drug are cough, diarrhoea, dizziness, pain during periods, headache, vomiting, chest tightness, feeling of warmth, redness of the face, neck, arms and frequently, upper chest, large, hive-like swelling on face, eyelids, lips, tongue, throat, hands, legs, feet, or genitals, shortness of breath, difficult or labored breathing.
Hypersensitivity to Montelukast / Theophylline is a contraindication. In addition, Montelukast / Theophylline should not be taken if you have the following conditions: Hypersensitivity Lactation Pregnancy
The use of fexofendine tablets is contraindicated in patients who have a known hypersensitivy to fexofenadine. For people above 12 years, the dose of Fexofenadine hydrochloride tablets should be 60 mg twice daily or 180 mg once daily with water. If there is a case of decreased kidney function, a dose of 60 mg once daily is recommended.
